If you want to learn to sew, start with the basic techniques. You'll become a master seamstress in no time. Having the right guidance is a must. If you don't learn how to do things right the first time, you'll have a hard time figuring things out later.
I still remember my first dress. I started stitching on a piece of dress-shaped cloth with some crooked stitches because I wanted to make a new outfit for my doll. LOL.
Learning on my own was fun but it took a lot of trial and error and messing things up. My mom was sure mad when I turned my clothes into stylish (but no longer wearable) haute couture creations.
After years of experimenting, taking lessons and reading tons of books and magazines, I found out something pretty cool:
Almost everything you can sew, boils down to simple techniques. If you learn to do them correctly, you'll be able to make anything you want.
